Umbrella & Stand with rain forecasting technology
This project began with the notion that if technology is going to become more
pervasive and be incorporated into everyday objects, then the results should be smart,
simple and seamless. A model for appropriate embedded technology, the Forecast
umbrella provides information about the likelihood of rain so that users can make a
simple, informed decision about whether to take their umbrella with them as they leave
for home.
Using existing wi-fi technology to wirelessly pull information from the internet,
Forecast's lighted umbrella handle glows more intensely with the increased chance
of precipitation offering a clear and unobtrusive signal to the user.
이 프로젝트는 일상 생활 속 물건에 과학기술을 더 많이 보급하고 통합해보면 어떨까
하는 생각을 가지고 시작했다. 그 결과로 일상생활은 현명해지고 쉬워지고 원활해져야 한다.
임베디드 기술을 사용한 모델인, 일기예보 우산은 강수 확률에 관해 정보를 제공하고 사용자는
그 정보에 근거해서 외출 시, 우산을 가져갈건지 말건지를 간단하게 결정할 수 있다.
인터넷에서 무선으로 정보를 가져오는 기존의 wi-fi 기술을 사용해서 만든 우산손잡이의 발광
기능은 손잡이의 빛이 강렬할수록 강수확률은 증가한다는 것을 사용자에게 명백하고 간결한
신호로 알려준다.
